Indian American chemist and educator Neil Garg will deliver a public lecture at a Los Angeles bar as part of the Lectures on Tap series on August 19.

Garg's talk, titled "Organic Chemistry on the Rocks," will bring science to an informal setting,  with the exact venue to be disclosed only to ticket holders. Garg, the Kenneth N. Trueblood Distinguished Professor of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), will explore the long-standing perception of organic chemistry as a difficult subject while highlighting its importance in everyday life.

According to organizers, the presentation will introduce audiences to the basics of the language of organic chemistry, examine the chemistry of alcohol, and showcase Garg's research on rule-breaking chemical synthesis.
