Cricketer Sunil Gavaskar receives Good Human Being Award in SF

The award celebrates individuals who have excelled in their respective fields while making extraordinary contributions to humanity.

Legendary Indian cricketer Sunil Gavaskar was honored with the “Good Human Being Award 2025” presented by the humanitarian non-profit Good Human Being Index Foundation on Sept. 10.

The inaugural awards ceremony, held at the Westin San Francisco Airport Hotel, Millbrae, brought together over 250 global luminaries, including Nobel laureates, scientists, technologists, educators, humanitarians, diplomats, and sports icons.

The Good Human Being Index Foundation, which operates under the motto “Save the Children of this Planet,” recognized Gavaskar for his efforts through the Heart 2 Heart (H2H) Foundation. 

Since its inception, the H2H Foundation has screened more than 355,000 children for congenital heart disease and facilitated over 37,000 life-saving free heart surgeries.
Saumen Chakraborty, founder of the Good Human Being Index Foundation, presented the award to Gavaskar, highlighting the unique blend of professional excellence and compassionate service that the foundation seeks to honor.

Other recipients of the Good Human Being Awards 2025 included Dr. Kailash Satyarthi, Nobel Peace Prize laureate and child rights advocate; Dr. Tony Nader, global head of Transcendental Meditation; Dr. Robert Goldman, anti-aging specialist and Guinness World Record holder; Chandrasekhar Ghosh, banking visionary and social entrepreneur; and Steve Killelea, founder of the Global Peace Index.

The event celebrated achievements in science, education, humanitarianism, and social impact, emphasizing the importance of integrating professional excellence with meaningful contributions to society.
