USISPF Chief Urges Modi-Trump Dialogue to Defuse Trade Tensions as Tariffs Rise

As President Donald Trump doubles down on tariffs, raising duties on Indian imports to an unprecedented 50 per cent, the head of a leading U.S.-India business forum has called for urgent high-level dialogue to prevent further erosion of the bilateral trade relationship.

Mukesh Aghi, president and CEO of the US-India Strategic and Partnership Forum (USISPF), told 5WH in an exclusive interview that while the newly announced 25 per cent tariff hike marks a difficult chapter in trade relations, it must not derail the broader strategic partnership between the two nations.
