Ro Khanna to outline worker-first AI agenda in Pennsylvania

U.S. Rep. Ro Khanna will outline what he calls a worker-first approach to artificial intelligence during a public event in Linwood, Pennsylvania, on Aug. 1, focused on the future of work and the impact of AI on communities.

Ahead of the event, Khanna promoted the discussion on X, calling for policies that prioritize workers over wealthy technology leaders.

"We need to put human beings over tech billionaires," Khanna wrote. "We need a worker first AI agenda. Join me in Linwood, PA to lay out a plan for making AI work for us."



The event, titled 'Protecting Workers & PA Communities: What the Future Economy Should Look Like in an AI World,' is scheduled on Aug. 1

According to the event description, the discussion will focus on how the AI revolution can benefit working people rather than a small group of wealthy technology executives.

Khanna is expected to speak with steelworkers, warehouse workers, truck drivers, caregivers, technology workers, students and community members about protecting workers, expanding economic opportunity and ensuring the benefits of AI are broadly shared.

The event will also highlight Pennsylvania's frontline workforce as participants discuss how AI could shape the state's economy and workforce in the years ahead.
