Rep. Ro Khanna will deliver a public lecture in Philadelphia on July 28 reflecting on the United States' 250th anniversary and presenting his vision for the country's future.

The event, titled 'America at a Crossroads: A Vision for the Future on our 250th Anniversary,' will be held at the Montgomery Auditorium in Parkway Central Library. It is being hosted by the Social Science and History Department and is free to attend.

Announcing the event in a post on X, Khanna invited the public to attend and linked the occasion to his personal connection with Pennsylvania.

"Join me in Philadelphia on July 28 to reflect on our 250th anniversary and how we build a new America," Khanna wrote.

"I was born in Bucks County during our bicentennial, and I believe it is time for a new moral direction true to our founding ideals."

According to the event description, Khanna, who has represented California's 17th Congressional District since 2017, will reflect on the nation's history while discussing the choices that could shape its next 250 years.

The program says Khanna will outline his vision for renewing the American Dream, strengthening democracy and building an economy that works for everyone.

The lecture coincides with nationwide commemorations marking the United States' 250th anniversary. Organizers describe it as an opportunity for Khanna to return to his birth state and share his perspective on the country's future.

The event will take place at Parkway Central Library, located at 1901 Vine St. in Philadelphia. It will be held in the Montgomery Auditorium on the library's ground floor. The Social Science and History Department is organizing the program.
