Indian American attorney Raj Goyle on May 13 announced endorsements from Progressive Victory and Moms Demand Action in his bid to become New York’s next state comptroller.

Goyle, the co-founder of Indian American Impact, an organization committed to enhancing political representation for the Indian American community, is set to face incumbent Comptroller Tom DiNapoli in the June Democratic primary.

Announcing its endorsement, Progressive Victory posted on X, “Progressive Victory is proud to endorse Raj Goyle for New York State Comptroller.”

Highlighting Goyle’s policy priorities, the organization added, “He's running to fight utility rate hikes, divest the $300 billion pension fund from fossil fuels, and invest in more affordable housing in New York. Vote for Raj on June 23!”

Goyle thanked Progressive Victory for its support and responded, “Honored to have the backing of Progressive Victory!”

He continued, “Our movement for a state comptroller’s office that works for every New Yorker is only getting stronger.”

Progressive Victory is a progressive political organization and hybrid PAC founded in 2022 by Sam Drzymala that combines online creator communities with grassroots organizing to support left-wing Democratic candidates and push the party further to the left.

Goyle, who has been vocal about the need for gun control and has positioned himself firmly on the side of gun violence prevention, has also been named a 2026 Gun Sense Candidate by Moms Demand Action.

Moms Demand Action is a leading national grassroots organization dedicated to preventing gun violence through advocacy for stricter gun laws, background checks and gun safety measures.

The organization endorses candidates who publicly support gun violence prevention measures, such as universal background checks, safe storage laws and other common-sense gun reforms, as Gun Sense candidates.

Acknowledging the backing, Goyle said on X, “Thank you to Moms Demand Action for awarding me the 2026 Gun Sense Candidate distinction!”

Goyle previously served in the Kansas House of Representatives from 2007 to 2011, where he was one of the youngest members elected. He has already received endorsements from members of Congress including Pramila Jayapal and Ro Khanna, along with trans activist Kylie Madhav and environmental organizations such as New York Communities for Change and Sunrise Movement.
