Neera Tanden, Director of the Domestic Policy Council of the United States, commended the increased representation of Indian Americans in politics and government.

Speaking at the Indian American Impact’s Desis Decide event, Tanden reflected on her journey from the Clinton White House to her current role, as the first Indian-American to lead any of the top White House advisory councils in history.

“I’m really excited about is the fact that there are rooms like this today because when I started off a few decades ago, truly we didn’t have that many Indian Americans in politics or policy or government,” she said to a packed audience.
