The City of Las Vegas has officially proclaimed October 2024 as Hindu Heritage Month, recognizing the contributions of its Hindu residents and key festivals, including Navratri and Diwali.
The proclamation, issued by Mayor Carolyn G. Goodman, acknowledges the role of the local Hindu community in fostering cultural diversity and inclusion.
The proclamation also recognized the Coalition of Hindus of North America (CoHNA), a national organization advocating for the rights and representation of Hindus. Mayor Goodman praised the Hindu community for its contributions to the city and invited all residents and visitors to join in the celebrations.

"As festivals are held honoring the victory over all evil, of Navaratri and Diwali, may you enjoy these joyful, colorful celebrations of life, humanity, and auspiciousness," the proclamation declared.
Hindu Heritage Month (HHM) is a global initiative that highlights Hinduism as a tradition and showcases the contributions it has made to human society. These proclamations aim to bring local awareness, recognition, and acknowledgment of the significant contributions made by Hindu Americans across the United States.
