India consulate to hold Phoenix consular camp July 25

Camp in Mesa will offer passport, OCI, visa and other services to Indian diaspora.

The Consulate General of India in Los Angeles will organize a consular camp in the Greater Phoenix area on July 25, offering a range of citizen services to the Indian diaspora in Arizona, according to a post on the consulate’s official X account.

The camp will be held at the Chinmaya Mission Center, located at 325 South Eldorado in Mesa, Arizona, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., with appointment slots for services running from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., the consulate said.

Services on offer include visa, Overseas Citizen of India (OCI), passport reissue, police clearance certificate, Green Energy Pass-related services, surrender and renunciation certificates, attestation, power of attorney, and life certificate services.

Community members were encouraged to register in advance through a link or QR code shared by the consulate, which tagged the Ministry of External Affairs, the Indian Embassy in the United States, Indian Diplomacy’s official channels, Consul General Dr. K.J. Srinivasa, and VFS Global in its announcement.

Arizona has fallen under the Los Angeles consulate’s jurisdiction since April 2026, when India expanded consular coverage in the Southwest, allowing applicants in Southern California, Arizona, Nevada, and New Mexico to access visa and OCI services through the Los Angeles VFS Global center rather than the San Francisco consulate, New India Abroad previously reported.

The Phoenix-area camp follows a similar outreach effort held in San Diego on June 20, where the Los Angeles consulate partnered with the House of India community organization to serve more than 350 attendees with passport, OCI, visa, police clearance certificate, attestation, Green Energy Pass, and renunciation-related services.

Such consular camps have become a regular feature of the Los Angeles consulate’s community outreach since it opened its current premises on Wilshire Boulevard earlier this year. The mission has also hosted cultural and diplomatic events, including a Republic Day reception attended by Nobel laureate Abhijit Banerjee and physicist-philanthropist Mani Lal Bhaumik, along with outreach visits to local community and religious organizations.

The Mesa camp is part of a broader push by Indian missions across the United States to bring consular services closer to diaspora communities outside major metropolitan hubs, reducing the need for long-distance travel for routine documentation and citizenship-related services.
