IA Impact endorses Vichal Kumar and Lisa Kaul's campaign runs
Kumar is running for the U.S. Congress and Kaul is running for NY State Senate.

The Indian American Impact has endorsed two Indian-American New Yorker candidates running for offices in the U.S. Congress and NY State Senate ahead of the upcoming election cycle.
Indian American Impact's first announcement of support in the series was for Congressional candidate Vichal Kumar.
A civil rights attorney and community advocate, Kumar is contesting for the U.S. House of Representatives in New York’s 7th Congressional District.
Born to working-class immigrants, Kumar has over two decades of experience working in legal advocacy and public defense. After starting his career at The Bronx Defenders, where he assisted community members dealing with housing instability, employment challenges, loss of public benefits and barriers to healthcare while attending law school at night, he moved to a successful legal career.
The work focused on helping families remain in their homes and access essential services such as employment assistance, food support programs and Medicaid.

Announcing its backing, Indian American Impact said on X, "We're excited to endorse Vichal Kumar for Congress in NY-7!"
It continued, "A public defender who has spent 20 years fighting for immigrants in detention, renters, and working families in the Bronx, Vichal is committed to expanding healthcare access, protecting immigrant communities, and standing up for working people in Washington."
IA Impact's second endorsement went to Indian-American New York State Senate hopeful Lisa Kaul. Running for NY District 39, Kaul grew up in India and left the country to Study at the Oxford University as a Rhodes Scholar. She eventually moved to the United States with her husband and became a U.S. citizen in 2008.
Kaul's campaign is focused on making New York more affordable by addressing housing, healthcare, education, and food costs, while also supporting workers' rights, tackling climate change, protecting public safety and reproductive freedom, and defending democratic rights.
Backing her, IA Impact said, "We’re proud to endorse Lisa Kaul for New York State Senate, District 39! A longtime public servant, Lisa has championed education, healthcare, and policies that support families across her community."
Apart from them, IA Impact also endorsed Pakistani-origin NY State Assembly candidate, Furhan Ahmed. Ahmed is the son of a Pakistani immigrant father and runs a campaign centered around healthcare, human dignity and quality of life, with a special focus on housing and climate resilience.
