Aruna Miller named treasurer of National LG Association
Maryland will welcome lieutenant governors from across the country for the 2027 NLGA Annual Meeting.

Maryland Lieutenant Governor Aruna K. Miller was appointed treasurer of the National Lieutenant Governors Association (NLGA) for the 2026-2027 term.
The appointment was announced during the NLGA's 2026 Annual Meeting in Denver, where Kentucky Lt. Gov. Jacqueline Coleman was elected chair for the 2026-2027 term.

Miller will serve on the organization's executive committee while Maryland prepares to host the 2027 NLGA Annual Meeting in Annapolis from June 23-25, 2027.

Founded in 1962, the NLGA is a bipartisan, nonprofit organization representing lieutenant governors and other officials first in the line of gubernatorial succession from U.S. states and territories.
The association provides a forum for state leaders to share policy ideas, collaborate across party lines, and strengthen leadership through meetings and educational programs.
In a post on X, Miller said she was "honored to serve as Treasurer of the National Lieutenant Governors Association."
"This role is an opportunity to learn from leaders across the country, share best practices, and build bipartisan partnerships that help all of our states move forward," she wrote.
Miller also welcomed Maryland's selection as the host of the 2027 NLGA Annual Meeting.
"I'm also thrilled that next summer we'll welcome lieutenant governors from across the nation to Maryland for the 2027 NLGA Annual Meeting. I can't wait to showcase the innovation, collaboration, and incredible people that make our state so special. Looking forward to welcoming everyone to Maryland!" she said.
According to the Office of the Lieutenant Governor, Miller said the association offers states an opportunity to exchange ideas and develop bipartisan solutions to common challenges.
"Every state has something to teach and something to learn," Miller said. "Through NLGA, we have the opportunity to share best practices, build bipartisan partnerships, and find solutions that improve people's lives. I can't wait to welcome my colleagues to Maryland next year and show them firsthand how we're working together to leave no one behind."
Lieutenant governors from across the country are expected to gather in Annapolis next June for the 2027 NLGA Annual Meeting to discuss shared policy priorities, governance, and interstate collaboration.
