Senior Citizens Club USA hosts Lake Geneva outing for Chicago-area seniors
Over 100 members marked U.S. and Indian independence milestones with cultural activities, recreation and community fellowship.

Chicago-area seniors at Lake Geneva / Asian Media USA
The Senior Citizens Club USA organized a one-day outing to Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, on July 19, bringing together more than 100 seniors from the Chicago area for a day of recreation, cultural celebration and community bonding.
The group departed from Niles, Illinois, early July 19 morning before travelling to Seminary Park in Lake Geneva, where the day's activities included patriotic observances, cultural performances, meals, entertainment and leisure walks along the lakefront.

The event began with a welcome ceremony and a Ganpati Stuti led by club chairperson Pinky Dinesh Thakkar. Members also commemorated the 250th anniversary of American Independence, 80 years of India's Independence, and 65 years of "Vande Mataram", standing for the national anthems of both the United States and India.
July birthdays and wedding anniversaries of club members were also celebrated during the gathering.
After breakfast featuring traditional Gujarati snacks, participants enjoyed lunch at Seminary Park before spending the afternoon exploring the Lake Geneva waterfront and nearby market district. Members also had the option of taking a separate boat tour on the lake.

The outing concluded with dinner and entertainment, including karaoke, music and dancing, before the group returned to the Chicago area in the evening.
The trip was coordinated by Mukesh Mehta, Sunil Shah, K.C. Patel, Jayshree Pandya and Usha Ray, with volunteers overseeing logistics and member safety throughout the day.
The Senior Citizens Club USA regularly organizes monthly gatherings, festival celebrations and recreational outings aimed at promoting social engagement and well-being among older Indian Americans in the Midwest.
