First India Community and Cultural Centre inaugurated in Redmond

The Centre aims to promote Indian culture, art and intellectual heritage through cultural performances, educational programs and community engagement initiatives.

The first India Community and Cultural Centre (ICCC) has been inaugurated in the U.S. city of Redmond, with the Consulate General of India in Seattle describing it as a milestone in strengthening cultural ties and community engagement among the diaspora in the area.

“A welcoming home for the Indian diaspora in Greater Seattle!” the Consulate General said on X.

Calling it an entirely community-led initiative, the Consulate General commended members of the Indian American community for establishing the centre to promote Indian culture, art and intellectual heritage.

 



"An entirely community-led and driven effort that deserves kudos for its mission: 'to present Indian culture, art and intellectual heritage through outstanding performances, education and community engagement,'" it said.

The Consulate General also thanked Indian American community leaders for their efforts in shaping the centre.

According to its stated mission, the India Community and Cultural Centre aims to promote Indian culture, art and intellectual heritage through cultural performances, educational programs and community engagement initiatives, while serving as a community hub for the Indian diaspora in the Greater Seattle region.
