TIYA SF sous chef wins “Most Innovative Chef of the Year”

Chef Bobby Sajwan received the “Most Innovative Chef of the Year” award at the Asia Business Leadership Awards 2026, in recognition of his culinary innovation and excellence across the region.

Sajwan, who currently serves as the sous chef at San Francisco-based contemporary Indian restaurant TIYA , is well known for his unique and creative approach to modern cuisine.

Reflecting on the award, he said, “Receiving this award is a true honor. Innovation is not just about creating something new; it’s about respecting tradition while evolving with time. I share this achievement with my entire team, whose dedication and creativity make everything possible."

The Asia Business Leadership Awards are known for recognizing leaders and changemakers across various industries who demonstrate excellence, vision, and impact. Chef Sajwan’s recognition highlights the increasing influence of culinary arts in shaping cultural and business landscapes in Asia.

Established by chef brothers Sujan And Pujan Sarkar, TIYA is located in San Francisco’s Marina District.

The restaurant's dishes feature vibrant, flavor-forward dishes and cocktails that reinterpret traditional Indian recipes through global techniques, artistic presentation, and a focus on regional diversity.
