McCarthy Holdings elevates Dhruv Patel to president, chief operating officer
In his new role, Patel will align McCarthy's regional and national businesses while overseeing core corporate functions and operations.

McCarthy Holdings, a St. Louis-based construction company has appointed Indian-American business executive Dhruv Patel as its new president and chief operating officer.
Patel will report directly to chairman and chief executive officer Ray Sedey and succeeds Joe Jouvenal as chief operating officer.
In his new position, Patel will be responsible for strengthening alignment across McCarthy's regional and national businesses to improve operational consistency and deliver results for clients. He will also oversee key corporate functions as part of the company's executive leadership team.

Patel joined McCarthy Building Companies Inc., a subsidiary of McCarthy Holdings, in 2013 and played a significant role in expanding the company's national Renewable Energy group. According to the company, the business grew from a $20 million operation to a portfolio exceeding $2 billion during his tenure, supporting renewable energy projects across the United States and establishing McCarthy as a leading solar and battery storage contractor.
Over the course of his career at McCarthy, Patel has held executive leadership positions spanning preconstruction, project delivery and operations.
“Dhruv is a thoughtful, strategic leader who understands our business from the ground up and has a strong track record of delivering results. He is a great builder, and he brings the judgment, operational discipline and collaborative leadership needed to strengthen alignment across our company,” Sedey said in a statement.
Patel said he is honored to assume the role during a period of transformation in the construction industry. “The construction industry today is in the midst of a transformation, and our company is innovating in so many areas. He previously served as a Leadership Circle member of the Energy Storage Association and was recognized as one of Engineering News-Record's 2026 Top 20 Under 40 honorees.
Patel holds a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and a Master of Business Administration from Arizona State University.
