Atlanta based SRV launches fund for AI start-ups with US expansion option

The fund will primarily invest in Indian startups building Agentic AI solutions for the B2B commerce ecosystem.

Atlanta-based early-stage venture capital firm, Silicon Road Ventures, has launched a dedicated India-focused investment fund aimed at supporting the next generation of Indian AI startups while helping them expand into the US market by providing strategic leadership support, infrastructure access, and connections to American investors and enterprise customers, the company announced on May 14.

Structured as a Category II Alternative Investment Fund (AIF) and approved by Securities and Exchange Board of India, the new fund,  by the commerce-technology-focused company, has a target corpus of ₹150 crore and has already completed its first close.

The fund will primarily invest in Indian startups building Agentic AI solutions for the B2B commerce ecosystem.

Its areas of focus will include multi-channel retail commerce, supply chain and logistics and other enterprise technologies that improve efficiency for brands, manufacturers and retailers.

The fund was first founded in 2019 by Indian-American entrepreneur Sid Mookerji, who serves as Managing Partner of Silicon Road Ventures.

Mookerji previously co-founded Software Paradigms International (SPI), a retail technology company that served clients across five continents before being acquired by Cognizant in 2018.

In addition to his venture investing activities, Mookerji also leads Silver Spirit Global LLC, a family office with investments spanning technology parks in both India and the United States.

The firm’s India investment operations are being headed by veteran banker Ajay Mahajan, who has held senior leadership roles at Bank of America, Yes Bank, UBS, and IDFC, and most recently served as MD & CEO of CARE Ratings.

Backed by limited partners from leading global CPG companies, Silicon Road Ventures has already invested in more than 30 startups operating across AI-led commerce, autonomous payments, retail media technology, warehouse automation, fraud prevention, and customer data platforms.

Its growing portfolio includes startups such as Knit, Tradeverifyd, Wripple, Qortex, and Harness.
