Drop in number of foreign tourists at World Heritage Sites in Delhi

According to the Archaeological Survey of India, 8,456 foreigners visited Qutub Minar in 2021-22 against 2.5 lakh earlier. Likewise, 5,579 foreigners visited Red Fort in 2021-22, against 91,364 in 2019-20

A 90 percent decline was registered in foreign tourist footfall at the World Heritage Sites in Delhi in 2021-22 because of Covid compared to the previous year's figures. Instead, travellers from abroad flocked to the Qutub Minar and the Red Fort, among the top ten most visited spots in 2021-22.

But, with the pandemic situation easing, the footfall of foreign tourists is expected to pick up.
