Doval meets Sullivan, discusses Middle East

The two NSAs are scheduled to meet again in Australia later this month on the sidelines of the Quad Summit.

Following the launch of the India-US Initiative on Critical and Emerging Technology (ICET) dialogue in January 2023, India’s National Security Advisor Ajit K. Doval and US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan met again in Saudi Arabia on May 7,2023.

According to a statement issued by the White House, the two officials met during a quadrilateral meeting with Saudi Prime Minister and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, and their UAE National Security Advisor Sheikh Tahnoon.

The four countries discussed advancing “their shared vision of a more secure and prosperous Middle East region interconnected with India and the world,” the statement noted.

The NSAs of India and the United States are scheduled to meet again in Australia later this month on the sidelines of the Quad Summit. “Sullivan also held bilateral meetings with the Crown Prince, Sheikh Tahnoon, and Doval to discuss bilateral and regional matters. He looks forward to further consulting with Doval on the margins of the Quad Summit later this month in Australia,” the White House added.
