Diwali: PM Modi pays respect to soldiers died in Kargil

Since 2014, PM Modi has made it a custom to celebrate Diwali with the soldiers guarding the border in Jammu & Kashmir, Rajasthan, Punjab, Uttarakhand, and Himachal Pradesh

For the eighth year in a row, Prime Minister Narendra Modi celebrated Diwali with military personnel on Oct. 24, 2022. According to a tweet from the PMO, PM Modi arrived at Kargil to celebrate the festival of lights with armed personnel. Since assuming office in 2014, Modi has been celebrating Diwali by traveling to several military installations.

Earlier, Modi used to post greetings for Diwali on Twitter, saying, "Happy Diwali to all of you. Diwali is known for its light and brightness. May the spirit of joy and well-being be strengthened in our lives by this auspicious occasion. I sincerely hope you enjoy your time celebrating Diwali with loved ones."
