Diljit Dosanjh created history as the first Punjabi Indian artist to enthral fans with his renditions at one of the world's most popular music festivals, Coachella. The event's line-up also included Indian-American rapper Raja Kumari.

The 2023 edition of Coachella took place on April 17, at the Coachella Valley in the Colorado Desert. Dosanjh's energetic performance that lasted 45 minutes was praised by fans on social media while American DJ Diplo was seen grooving to his famous song Patiala Peg at the festival.

Flaunting his Sikh heritage, Dosanjh dressed traditionally for the performance in an all-black attire that included a turban, tehmet (a Punjabi variant of a lungi), and a kurta. His bright yellow gloves gave his ensemble a splash of colour.

The actor-singer who began his career as a Kirtan (devotional song) singer in Punjab, has earlier made headlines for being the biggest-selling Indian artist for a single concert. He has performed at sold out shows at the Wembley Arena in London and other stadiums globally.
