Cloud of uncertainty over India-UK FTA

In view of this uncertainty, the prospect of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's UK visit towards the end of the month to sign an FTA draft around Diwali is also seen as shaky at this stage

A cloud of uncertainty hovers over the proposed India-UK free trade agreement (FTA) which is in its final stages as the UK seems to insist on restrictive policies on migration.

Data localisation and UK companies being allowed to bid for Indian government contracts are among the issues causing a possible deadlock in the final stages of the FTA negotiations.
