Chhath Puja, the worship of the Sun God, was celebrated all over the national capital Delhi by devout Hindus with great religious fervour. Over 1,000 sites had been set up across the city to facilitate the worshippers. The offerings are essentially made at river banks and ponds, but makeshift water bodies were created by digging ditches and filling these with clean water or using large water tubs to serve the purpose.
