The California State Senate unanimously passed bill, AB 2282, that separates the identity of the Hindu Swastika from Nazi hakenkreuz (hooked cross in German), earlier this week.

AB 2282 aims to decriminalize the display of swastika associated with Hinduism, Buddhism and Jainism. If signed by the Governor, Gavin Newsom, California will become the first state to legalize the swastika in its penal code and recognize the Nazi emblem by its German name, hakenkreuz.
