The prime minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina will pray at the renowned Ajmer Sharif dargah in Rajasthan during her visit to India in the first week of September. The dargah is considered one of the holiest places in Rajasthan.
Hasina has travelled to Ajmer before; her most recent trip was in 2017. During that journey, she visited the shrine of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti and offered "Chadar" - a fabric used to cover the saint's grave with respect. She had also visited the shrine in 2010 when she became the prime minister of her country for the second time. Having won elections in 2014 and 2018, Hasina has served as the nation's prime minister continuously since 2009.
