American multinational technology giant Apple's CEO Tim Cook met Prime Minister Narendra Modi on April 19, 2023 in the national capital and shared his perspective on different subjects including India’s technological transformation.
Expressing his company's commitment to growing and investing across the Indian market, the CEO tweeted, “Thank you Prime Minister @narendramodi for the warm welcome. We share your vision of the positive impact technology can make on India’s future — from education and developers to manufacturing and the environment, we’re committed to growing and investing across the country.”
In response, PM Modi tweeted "An absolute delight to meet you, @tim_cook! Glad to exchange views on diverse topics and highlight the tech-powered transformations taking place in India."

Cook is on an India visit at a time when Apple is commemorating 25 years in India. During his visit he inaugurated India's first and second Apple retail stores in Mumbai and the Capital city respectively. He also visited many places including the Akanksha Foundation school, The Indian School of Design & Innovation, Mumbai , Maharashtra, National Crafts Museum & Hastkala Academy, New Delhi.

On meeting with the young children at the foundation school, he tweeted “I met the most incredible group of students and teachers at Akanksha Foundation school, where children that might not have otherwise had the opportunity are given the chance to reach for their dreams. These students embody perseverance and hope! We’re proud to support them.”
