Amid rising hate crimes in Canada Indian govt ask citizens to “exercise caution, remain vigilant”

The government has launched an online “Madad” (Help) portal, which will provide assistance in cases of emergency.

The Indian Ministry of External Affairs, on Friday, issued a advisory for Indian nationals and students from India in Canada asking them to “exercise due caution and remain vigilant” as incidents of hate crimes and anti-India activities are on the rise in the country.

According to an official statement from the Ministry, the Indian government and  missions have taken up the issue with the Canadian authorities but the perpetrators of these crimes have not been brought to justice so far in Canada.
