The American India Foundation (AIF) recently held a fashion show to showcase the outstanding designs of 40 underprivileged girls who were trained as "assistant fashion designers" in Uttarkhand as part of Project SAHELI.

AIF's Support Adolescent, Health, Education, and Livelihood Initiative (SAHELI) aims to make lives better for adolescent girls in the Pauri districts of Uttrakhand by providing means to health, education and livelihood.

The fashion show, that attracted more than 200 spectators, increased awareness of the girls' talents and brought buyers and consumers together under one roof along with government policymakers and elected officials.
